For this special edition MoMA catalog, the magazine is meant to be viewed in conjunction with a MoMA exhibition. This exhibition shows how the artists of the Bauhaus and De Stijl periods of graphic design can educate people on the Gestalt principles of design. Each chapter highlights a Gestalt principle, an artist, his work, and an application of the principle put into practice.
